Welcome to Shangri la yoga where Yoga is all about releasing the day to day stresses through gentle movement using yoga poses. All classes incorporate meditation and breathing techniques and have weekly themes, so you can dip in and out according to your mood and needs. Chose from Yin to Hatha or  Restorative Yoga. Class times include early mornings or evenings with regular Retreats. About Us ……

Hi, I am Siobhan, the founder of Shangrila Yoga.

I teach Hatha Yoga, Yin Yoga & Restorative Yoga my classes include teaching Yoga poses, Mudras, Mantras & Breathing Techniques that you can use in everyday life, in everyday situations, to help us all live a more meaningful life.

I especially like to to include the lunar cycle, the seasons and feminine rituals to help us connect to who we really are and what we really want or need in our life.

Qualifications include E-YRT200, Yin Yoga Teacher, Reiki Master, RMN.

Anoushka

Hi, I am Anoushka, the other half of Shangrila Yoga.

I have been practicing Yoga since I was a little girl. My practice has transformed over the years from training as a gymnast to more fully embracing Yoga as a daily stabilizing routine.

I teach traditional Hatha but can flow with a Vinyasa style class for when I’m feeling lively or I can submerge into the quiet depths of an introspective Yin Yoga experience.

I work with the vibration of the class, and tailor my Asanas (Yoga Poses) & breath work or Yoga Nidra (Yogic sleep) in accordance with that. I believe Yoga is not a one size fits all. As a Yoga Teacher I aim to bring nourishment and fluidity to all my students, from beginners to advanced.

My yummiest class is a Sunday morning which combines Hatha & Yin Yoga with meditation, there is also a weekly addition of Mudras & Mantras, the benefits of which you can take off the mat and into your daily life.

Our Yoga Style 

All classes have a monthly theme, include meditations around those themes and have gentle style, so if you feel you need to improve your flexibility, calm your thoughts, de-stress from a busy lifestyle or career, these classes are for you. The vibe is gentle, nurturing and supportive where strength and focus are built up over time and with regular practice can help you to develop physical, mental and emotional resilience. All levels are welcome.

Its December and we are in the season of Winter, its time to hunker down, slow down and find regular time to rest.  This month the theme is all about emotional presence, honouring and acknowledging  and validating your emotions. When we do this we make healthy choices for our physical and emotional body. This months offerings include Dance Flow Yoga, which is supported by our Yoga Nidra and restorative practice, all of which will support you to let go of control and open up to new thoughts and experiences. Do you want to develop a deep connection to yourself and your needs? Do you understand how to use your feminine Energy systems, do you know what they are? Want to know more ….come to class. 

 

New to Online Yoga ?Here are a few tips…

 

 

Online Yoga

  • Make sure you are fit and well, if you are pregnant or if you have sciatica or any other injuries or had surgery, contact your G.P. to ask if Yoga is recommended for you. 
  • Be sure to wear loose clothing, such as leggings and t-shirt or track suit bottoms to allow freedom of movement.
  • Use a Yoga mat, bring cushions and a blanket to all classes.
  • Allow at least 2-3 hours after eating a large meal and 2 hours after a light meal before attempting to do yoga. Alcohol is not recommended prior to any yoga class.
  • Try to arrive at least 5 mins before the class starts to allow you to settle into the class and give time to ask me questions if you need to, an email link will be sent during the day so you can set yourself up in time for your online class.
